The Key to Commercial Construction
Commercial construction projects require special attention to schedule and budgets to ensure they are financially viable. Sound Storage Cathcart is no different — and this storage unit project was complex due to its location and timeline.
This in-progress construction project includes the new construction of a four-story self-storage facility that includes 95,000 square feet of rentable space. The building will be made of concrete masonry units (CMUs) and structural steel with concrete floors on pan decking support.
The goal of this project is simple: get it done on time and within budget.
Commercial General Contracting within a Residential Development
This project is taking shape within a much larger residential development, which means new residents are moving in as units are completed. For our team, that means we’ve been going the extra mile to coordinate deliveries, maintaining jobsite safety standards, and ensuring tight lot line conditions so pedestrians don’t enter construction zones. For all of our projects, we maintain high standards for quality and working conditions, but this projects requires a high level of attention to detail.
Despite these challenges and the additional work required, work is currently ahead of schedule and as of November 2024. Our team is known for its ability to meet tight budgets and deadlines due to our deep experience in commercial contracting.
What’s Next?
The next big deliverables in this project are the completion of building framing and concrete pouring for the deck. Once these milestones are completed, the roof can be installed and then the interior can be built out.
Throughout this project, our team has overcome permitting challenges and unpredictable site conditions. The Sea Con team has risen to the occasion and been effective and efficient by communicating regularly and transparently both internally, with the architects and engineers, and with project ownership.
